Sexually transmitted infection (STIs) interventions provide diagnosis and treatment for STIs (other than HIV). Although they do not prevent or treat HIV directly, these programs help prevent the spread of HIV since individuals with STIs acquire and transmit HIV more readily. These programs may also teach individuals safer sex practices or offer related services.
