Ruth Greenblatt, MD, examines reproductive changes associated with aging in HIV-infected women. In doing so, she discusses how HIV-infected women experience menopause and how reproductive aging affects HIV, including the difficulty of defining menopause in the context of chronic disease, gendered differences in immune function, and the high prevalence of autoimmune disease among women.
